American Healthcare Institute Students: BLS CPR Classes in Tampa Bay
Updated October 2026 with current school and BLS certification information.
If you are an American Healthcare Institute student in the Tampa Bay area and need CPR or BLS certification for school, clinical training, employment, or another healthcare requirement, In-Pulse CPR offers hands-on American Heart Association BLS Provider classes throughout the Tampa Bay region.
One important update from the original version of this page: the school is now called American Healthcare Institute, and its current main campus and nursing programs are based in West Palm Beach. The Florida Board of Nursing also lists an American Healthcare Institute RN remedial program in Tampa. American Healthcare Institute
Does American Healthcare Institute Require BLS CPR?
The older version of this page stated that all American Healthcare Institute nursing students needed BLS and that every local nursing program would accept our course.
That claim was too broad.
American Healthcare Institute currently offers programs including Associate of Science in Nursing, Practical Nursing, Medical Assistant, EMT, Cardiac Ultrasound, and Vascular Ultrasound. Florida Department of Education
However, the current public school materials I reviewed do not clearly state a universal BLS certification requirement for every student or program.
Your requirement may depend on:
- Your specific healthcare program
- Clinical-site requirements
- Your instructor or program director
- An employer requirement
- Whether you are entering a clinical rotation
Before registering, check the exact certification instructions provided by American Healthcare Institute.
If your requirement specifically says:
American Heart Association BLS Provider
then that is the course you should select with In-Pulse CPR.
What Is the AHA BLS Provider Course?
The American Heart Association BLS Provider course is designed for healthcare professionals and students who may respond to cardiac or respiratory emergencies.

Students who successfully complete the course receive an American Heart Association BLS Provider eCard.

Nursing and Healthcare Students Should Verify Their Requirement
Healthcare schools often have very specific CPR requirements.
One program may require AHA BLS Provider, while another may accept a different approved certification.
Clinical facilities can also impose requirements beyond those listed by the school itself.
That is why we recommend checking your paperwork before registering.
If it says:
AHA BLS Provider
or
American Heart Association BLS
select the BLS Provider course.
If it says something different, confirm the requirement with your school before registering.

Updated October 2026: This page has been substantially revised because the original Port Richey school information and blanket statements about nursing-program acceptance were outdated. Current American Healthcare Institute materials identify its primary campus in West Palm Beach, while the Florida Board of Nursing separately lists an RN remedial program in Tampa.
